Macau is a fast-developing Special Administration Region (SAR) of China that promotes open economy system similar to Hong Kong. It's main advantage is due to its strategic location at the heart of China's economic powerhouse - the Pearl River Delta (PRD) region, where more than 60 millions people live with highest per capita GDP, producing 1/3 of China's exports, and reachable by about half of world population (2.9 billions) within 5 hours air flight radius.

EVENT INTRODUCTION

The "Next Big One", will draw together the local and international marine industry showcasing the trade, super yachts and associated products and boat builders. This First and Founding Year is also an opportunity to showcase successful Australian Marine Companies - boat manufacturers, equipment and service providers, Marina and Property expertise. As the show develops to showcase different countries each year, the content and experiential offering will also develop more from the growth of the event. It is planned to be both a business to business trade event, and also a business to consumer show.

China is A Thrilling Expanding Market with 90,000 lakes, 6,500 islands, enormous water networks and 18,000 kilo meters of coastline and is developing into one of the world's most exciting markets for the industry. Further:

  • China marine industry growth is forecast at 9% per annum. In light of this and their early developing infrastructure, China is relying on the importation of quality vessels and industry expertise.
  • The demand for watercraft is ever-increasing due to the expansion of the middle-class and their desire for luxury goods, including boating products and services.
  • Evidence of substantial investment in infrastructure and therefore long- term commitment from the Chinese Government and large scale marine products already in development.

MARKETING 

The Consumer: "The Next Big One" International Boat Show is promoted at both the entry level boating enthusiast and the experienced Boatie through a well constructed and targeted marketing campaign. We focus on providing a need/want for the consumer to attend the show. In addition, we are looking at the opportunities of docking Mega and Super yachts at a suitable location in China, with large birthing capability , we will attract the Mega and super yacht series and therefore attract the buyers at this end of the market as well as creating the factor for the general public and the experience of not being able to purchase a multi-million vessel is supplanted by actual being able to get up close and on one at this show. 

Our Target Audience:

The audience is expected to be mainland Chinese, with a contingency of international buyers through VIP Trade delegations and invites. This marketing campaign can co-exist with the campaigns of a 5 Star Resort and Convention Title Sponsorship package.  We currently have 2 parties interested to explore these opportunities further. Other Prime Sponsorship packages are also available for Marine and non- Marine Industries. The industry split will be aimed at 70% local industry and 30% International Boat Builders. Out of a target of 20 of the largest boat builders in the world, we aim to attract 10 -12 of these from Australia, and in particular from the Gold Coast, the Marina Industry Capital of the Southern Hemisphere. 

The main emphasis will be on connecting the local trade with international experience. Trade therefore will be as important for the industry as with the targeted consumers we will attract to the event. To this end we have held discussions with Austrade and various other Marine Industry Associations. 

To capture this market we gain exposure through main stream medias as well as more targeted campaigns such as direct mail, sales trips and access to our 5,000 world wide industry partners database. Optimal Events has already fielded expressions of interest from three of the largest boat builders in Australia through its connectivity in the market. we are excited about bringing this experience to China. 

We have developed a detailed marketing and sales program drawing from our partnerships already in place in China and based on our experience in selling and promoting boat shows.
